Florida title requirements

Florida requires title insurance on all financed transactions, and attorneys are frequently involved in residential and commercial closings as closing agents or independent legal counsel. Florida’s statewide title insurance rate schedule (promulgated by the Florida Department of Financial Services) governs premium pricing, while the legal requirements around closing agent licensing and the handling of escrow funds are set by Florida statute. We coordinate statewide coverage through our underwriter network and partner network.
